Celebrating Cameron’s 15-Year Journey at Woolworths Northlands

Posted Thursday August 14, 2025

Cameron’s journey began at Papanui High School, where he was part of the Kimiora unit. During his time at school, Cameron took part in work experience at Woolworths Northlands, helping out in the Produce Department.

After finishing school, Cameron’s parents reached out to Woolworths to see if he could continue in the same role. Thankfully, the team welcomed him back, and Cameron kept working the same days and hours as he had during his school placement.

It took time and perseverance, but eventually Cameron’s voluntary role turned into paid employment. He’s now been a valued member of the Produce Department for an incredible 15 years!

The manager at Woolworths has been a huge support, maintaining open communication with Cameron’s dad and really taking Cameron under his wing. Cameron says he loves restocking the fruit and veg, enjoys working alongside the team, and appreciates meeting customers.

We’re so proud of Cameron’s dedication and the strong relationships he’s built. His story is a wonderful example of inclusion, commitment, and the power of community.
