Queenstown Holiday

In May Dean, Donald, Sharon, Susan and Megan from Avonhead Road went to Queenstown on holiday.

There was great excitement as bags were packed and the car loaded, everyone was keen to get on the road. On the first day Dean and Donald took lots of photos with their flatmates along the way as they stopped off in numerous towns on the road trip to Queenstown.

The second day of their holiday Dean and Donald went on the Shotover Jet, they both had a fantastic time. While the boys were on the Shotover Jet Megan, Sharon and Susan went to a café, had morning tea and went for a walk alongside Lake Wakatipu and watched all the boats, posing for some photos. Later on, they meet up with Dean and Donald and took a ride on the Skyline Gondola where they enjoyed lunch overlooking Queenstown. The afternoon wasn’t to be outshone by the morning activities with a visit to Chinese Settlement in Arrowtown.

Although a little chilly on the third day they all wrapped up warm and took the Earnslaw over to Walter Peak High Country Farm where they enjoyed a barbeque lunch, sat on a bench near the lake, watched the ducks and threw stones into the water. On the final evening of their holiday the flatmates ventured out to Below Zero Bar where everyone was keen to have their photo taken. Susan was amazed when she saw everything was made of ice, including the glass her drink came in.

The fourth day saw everyone up early for the return trip to Christchurch, stopping for lunch in the beautiful Lake Tekapo township. A wonderful holiday with some wonderful photos for the albums and to share with family and friends.
