Dairnie Johnston’s Story
Hi, my name is Dairnie I live at the Centre Street House in Mosgiel. I would like to tell you all my story of my first big day trip for 2020 to Roxburgh.
My trip came about when my 1-1 Support Worker Tracey took me on one of many outings, I choose to go to Dunedin Botanical Gardens where I love smelling the flowers and exploring the different surroundings of the garden. While I was there sitting under a beautiful tree with flowers around, I posed for a photo which was taken by Tracey. After getting home looking through the lovely photos of myself, Tracey and I decided a beautiful canvas print would be a lovely Christmas gift for mum and my step dad Greg.
It was a lovely hot summer’s Tuesday morning when we started our journey, I was sitting in the back in the wheelie car watching all going by and after a few stops with road works we finally arrived at our destination. We arrived to see mum, Greg and a lovely surprise of Greg’s mum waiting there for me, hugs all around … that I so love from my family. I was so excited about giving my mum her Christmas gift. We then went over to the Café in Roxburgh, after eating my lunch I asked mum to open her present, saying please please, well mum couldn’t say No.
I helped mum with opening up her present, I was so excited for her to open, I just couldn’t not help. Mum’s face showed me she loved the photo of me, Tracey and Greg took some photos of me and my mum holding up the canvas picture, I have a photo that I would like to share.
I can’t wait for my next trip.
