Support Staff

The Hawksbury Community Living Trust was initially set up in 1992 to provide quality residential support for people with intellectual disabilities. With a broad range of residential homes in Christchurch and Dunedin offering independent community focused environments, we proudly support people with intellectual disabilities to achieve their life choices.

 

About this role:
Supporting adults with an intellectual disability with the day to day running of their home and engagement in their community.

Respecting and advocating for people’s rights.

The primary role is to provide the support to enhance the quality of life of the people we support.  Support Staff maintain a pleasant and positive atmosphere within the home, treating people with respect and dignity.  Support Staff follow all assigned duties under the direction and supervision of the Team Leader.

 

We’re looking for people who have:
Experience in residential support is preferred but not essential.
A positive attitude to supporting people with an intellectual disability.
Good written and oral communication skills
Is willing to undertake training to develop further skills for the role
Full New Zealand Drivers License.
Energy and enthusiasm.
